Where to Shop

Have a favorite store that you would like added to our list? Email us!

Welcome to the “Where to Shop”section of Modern Vintage Antiquing.Below you will find a comprehensive list of stores right here in Northwest Arkansas that will provide you with enough information to make your head spin! We decided to give each store a "classification" to help you better understand the types of items sold at each location. Since some shops sell a mix of items, the classifications were created in a way to help cover the broad spectrum of shops you will find in NWA. The shops are listed in no particular order, below each classification. New shops will be added frequently… we are currently working on a list of over 20, so check back often!

Classifications & Shops

True Thrift
True Thrift covers shops that operate mostly on a donation basis. These shops will have the lowest quality of items but typically offer the most competitive prices and on rare occasions, might be hiding a true gem! Folks looking to buy cheap, to repurpose and resale, can typically find great bargains at these shops. True Thrift shops also typically have a nice selection of vintage clothing, shoes, books, children items and misc. household items. ReStores also fit into this category but products here are typically restricted to larger furniture and home improvement items.

Swap Meet
This category covers shops with products similar to what you might find at a swap meet. NWA does not have regularly scheduled swap meets at this time, but does host a handful of shops that's merchandise resembles that of a typical swap meet. These shops typically offer low end furniture, tools, movies, cd's, books, small appliances baby and children items and misc. household items, with a very smallselection of antiques. Like the True Thrift category, shops in the Swap Meet category are a good place to look for those items you want to buy cheap, to repurpose and resale.

2. A Little Bit Used-Rogers

Flea Market
The Flea Market category covers shops that have your typical booth style set up with a WIDE variety of products. These shops typically carry a hand full of items that would classify as antiques, but the majority of the booths would carry mostly swap meet type products and more items from the 1980’s to present time household items. This is another good category for searching for those items to repurpose, or for a young couple on a budget looking to fill a house.

Price points are higher for this category but the merchandise is always high quality and in style.

Shabby Chic
Have you heard of Shabby Chic? If not, just Google it! Chalk painted furniture, chevron patterns and burlap with antiques sprinkled around is a common site in these types of shops. Not all the booths in these shops are Shabby Chic, but, it is the norm. If a mix of Pinterest and vintage is what you are looking for, these shops are where you will want to start!

Fleatique
Of all the categories, this is probably my favorite, and where I make the majority of my purchases. This is also the type of shop in NWA that you will see the most. Most Fleatique shops have the typical flea market layout with rows and rows of booths. But what separates them from a typical flea market, is, that they carry far more antique items than a typical flea market and they are not just strictly high end pieces. There is also usually some Shabby Chic thrown in here and there. Fleatiques typically carry lots of smalls, glassware, collectables, vintage jewelry, coins, art, eclectic pieces, retro, art deco and misc. furniture.

True Antique
This is another favorite of mine. These shops carry your higher end pieces of heirloom furniture and decorating pieces, the kind you wouldn't dare repurpose! They will also carry select glassware and collectables. You will often see things in these shops that you have never seen anywhere else and might have a very hard time ever seeing them again outside that particular shop.

Vintage Clothing
This category is pretty much self-explanatory...these shops carry awesome vintage clothing.  Some things are as they were back in the day; others have been modified and/or paired with new items, giving the piece a new, more modern look.  A handful of these shops have misc. vintage household items as well. Check them out...they are groovy!
